Transit Equity Days--Remembering Rosa Parks

Public transit is a civil right and an important part of a just transition from a fossil-fuel to a clean energy economy! Transit Equity Days is a celebration of Rosa Parks' birthday and includes events, workshops, tours, and library displays about the importance of public transit in moving from a fossil fuel to a clean energy economy.  The event provides:

  • An invitation and tools for bus riders to share their public transit stories at display sites and online;
  • Free fares on the MTU from Monday, January 29, through Sunday, February 4;
  • Free fares on the Scenic Mississippi Regional Transit buses on Tuesday, January 30;
  • “Office Hours on the Bus” rides with local elected city, county, and state leaders;
  • An online thank you card to appreciate the virtual essential role transit workers play in our community.
